Requirements
Must:
We require individuals with SC Clearance and DV for MOD sites. Our Ring-Fenced Team consists of 15 engineers who cover the London area for various needs such as sickness, holiday cover, resource on-demand requests, and project requests. You should be prepared to obtain clearances for several customer accounts, including Government SC and DV.
You need to demonstrate the following skills and experiences:
- Intermediate to advanced level desktop installation, configuration, support, and troubleshooting services.
- Basic Wintel server installation, configuration, administration, and break-fix repairs.
- Hardware and software expertise, accredited through the appropriate vendor training programs.
- Compliance with nationality rules due to the nature of MOD work.
- A clean driving license, as you may occasionally need to drive a vehicle supplied by the customer to different satellite sites.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Customer Engineer, you will be expected to:
- Quickly learn and support basic Desktop and Laptop hardware and software in a Windows 10/11 environment, including HP, Dell, and Lenovo systems.
- Utilize experience with Mac OS, including desktops and MacBooks.
- Demonstrate proficiency in MS Office products, specifically Office 365 and Teams.
- Support various mobile devices, including Apple and Android products.
- Understand wireless connectivity and perform fault diagnostics.
- Engage with users in Tech Bar environments, addressing technical queries effectively.
- Navigate through operating systems to locate and recreate desktop shortcuts.
- Add printers and map network connections.
- Follow scripts to build and configure laptops and desktops.
- Manage moves, changes, and workstation setups.
- Handle server technology, including data centre operations with HP Proliant G8-G10, Dell servers, and Lenovo blades, along with back-ups and storage configuration.
- Apply your knowledge of Cisco technologies.
