Requirements
Must:
- Strong backend development experience in .NET, Java, Node.js, or Python
- Proven experience with API design, relational/NoSQL databases, and cloud platforms
- Hands-on leadership experience and capability to manage junior engineers
- A solution-oriented approach combined with a collaborative mindset
- Experience in startup, scale-up, or fast-moving environments is highly desirable
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and operation of backend services and APIs
- Mentor and manage a small team of junior engineers
- Ensure solutions are reliable, secure, and high-performing
- Collaborate with product, frontend, and data teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Drive best practices in CI/CD, observability, DevOps, and technical documentation
- Influence overall technical strategy and architectural decisions

You will take ownership of backend architecture, lead a small team of engineers, and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-performance systems. This role is perfect for someone with startup or high-growth experience who is comfortable being hands-on while driving strategic architectural decisions. We offer full support for relocation to Dubai and a competitive salary of up to £140K. You will have the opportunity to lead impactful projects while remaining hands-on and to mentor and develop a small engineering team.
