Requirements
Must:
- I require a degree in a relevant subject.
- You should have embedded real-time software development experience on Android AOSP, using C++/Java.
- Strong debugging skills are essential; you should enjoy investigating and solving challenging real-time platform issues.
- Experience with development tools for debugging, profiling, code coverage, memory leak detection, etc., is necessary.
- Proficiency in real-time, multi-processor, multi-threaded, event-driven software development is required.
- You should be familiar with configuration management and fault tracking tools.
- I value innovation and a proven ability to generate new ideas and approaches to problems.
- Tenacity in probing issues to understand their root causes is important.
- Good analytical, numerical, written, and verbal communication skills are essential.
- You should be able to apply initiative when required and take ownership of your activities.
- The ability to communicate effectively with the wider engineering organization is necessary.
Responsibilities
- In this role, you will be working in a friendly team of highly skilled developers.
- You will develop and support the software running on our Android-based products.
Description
This Embedded Software Developer - Android AOSP position is located in Cambridge, with a salary ranging from £40-50K plus benefits, including an early finish on Fridays, bonus private healthcare, a pension, a dental plan, 25 days of annual leave, and more.
If you have experience with Linux kernel and system programming, small RTOS, and microcontrollers, that would be a nice addition. Familiarity with working with a hardware development team, including the ability to interpret schematics and practically debug using logic analyzers and oscilloscopes, is also appreciated.
