- Proven experience as a Network Engineer with expertise in Cisco technologies, including switching, routing, wireless, and security.
- Strong understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, ICMP, and IPSEC.
- Familiarity with firewall technologies including Cisco ASA, Cisco Firepower (NGFW), and Palo Alto firewalls.
- Experience with network management systems like Cisco ISE & Prime, Cisco ACI, and BIG-IP F5 (LTM, ASM).
- Knowledge of virtualization and cloud services, specifically VMware, Azure, and/or AWS.
- Proficiency with network monitoring tools such as PRTG or similar applications.
- Valid SC or DV clearance is required.

Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and support a team of engineers to ensure efficient operations.
- Prioritize and manage tasks to resolve technical incidents promptly and effectively.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams, project managers, and capacity and availability managers to achieve goals.
- Troubleshoot network issues, identify recurring problems, and escalate when necessary.
- Contribute to fostering a culture of professionalism, innovation, collaboration, and trust within the team.

Description
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to take on a challenging role within our secure, high-performing environment. You will play a crucial part in maintaining and improving our highly secure and resilient infrastructure over a 12-month fixed-term contract. We offer a competitive salary of £57,000 along with a Civil Service Pension and the flexibility of hybrid working.
