Requirements
Must:
- Cisco CCNP (or equivalent) certification
- Strong background in enterprise networking and cloud infrastructure
- 3rd line support experience within a large-scale IT environment
- Excellent problem-solving and relationship management skills
- Proven experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, SD-WAN, ZScaler, and automation tools
- A solid understanding of ITIL practices
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and confidently manage critical incidents or tight project deadlines
Responsibilities
- Support, maintain, and optimize network infrastructure across multiple platforms
- Lead and deliver network projects end-to-end
- Develop automation scripts to improve efficiency and consistency
- Monitor and resolve network incidents to ensure minimal disruption
- Work closely with architects and security teams to strengthen the network
- Manage vendor relationships and collaborate with internal stakeholders
- Maintain up-to-date documentation and follow ITIL-based processes
- Participate in a 24/7 support rota
Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our growing IT team in Cardiff, with a hybrid work option of 2-3 days per week on-site. You will manage and develop a wide range of network technologies across multiple vendors, including Cisco, Palo Alto, ZScaler, Vodafone, and Microsoft. This hands-on role involves not only project delivery and day-to-day support but also leading projects, mentoring junior engineers, and shaping the future of our network infrastructure. You will work with the latest network technologies in a fast-moving environment, taking ownership and leading by example. The salary for this permanent position ranges from £51,000 to £56,000, along with an annual cost-of-living increase and a standby allowance.
