Requirements
Must:
- Strong Python experience for data engineering
- Strong experience working with SQL Server
- Strong experience working with Azure Data Factory and Azure DevOps
- Hands-on experience with data lake platforms, Azure Synapse, Databricks, or equivalent experience/skills
- Experience with tooling such as CI/CD pipelines and version control
- The ability to lead feature specifications and work closely with key business stakeholders
- Adopting an AI-first approach to development and being inquisitive about its benefits and features
Responsibilities
- Reporting into the Director of Data Engineering and working closely with other Data Engineers and Analysts within the business
- Responsible for the design, build, and maintenance of Python-based ETL pipelines
- Account for and lead SQL development
- Develop data lakes within Azure Synapse, adhering to the organisations architecture standards
- Meet with business stakeholders to define requirements and translate them into solution designs
- Keep stakeholders informed on the status of data initiatives
- Produce technical documentation: solution designs, data dictionaries, and engineering runbooks
- Review and guide the work of less experienced members of the team
- Contribute to solution design discussions and architecture decisions

You will work alongside a collaborative team of data engineers and analysts delivering high-quality data solutions across the full data lifecycle. This role offers a starting salary of £55,000 - £60,000, an annual bonus scheme of 10%-20%, 25 days of holiday allowance (which increases with service), flexible working hours, and a hybrid setup.
