We are looking for candidates with proven experience in designing and reviewing secure system designs using recognized patterns and principles. You should have the ability to enable and inform risk-based decisions, identifying vulnerabilities to prevent and respond to cyber breaches. A strong track record of protecting organizational assets through effective security measures is essential. Additionally, you must possess strong communication skills, as you will engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Being actively informed of industry trends and developments, and applying emerging technologies in a creative and cost-effective way, is a valuable asset.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will provide expert security advice across various projects and programs. You will have the opportunity to influence risk-based decisions and engage with senior stakeholders. My expectations include reviewing and assuring designs to ensure that security is embedded throughout the lifecycle of projects. I will support implementation teams with practical security guidance and contribute to the development of security principles, patterns, and future roadmaps. Mentoring colleagues and sharing expertise across the organization will also be a crucial part of your responsibilities.
Description
Joining HM Land Registry as a Security Consultant/Architect is an exciting opportunity, especially since security is paramount in everything we do. We aim to strengthen our security capability by providing both strategic advice and practical expertise, in line with our ambition to become the world's leading land registry for speed, simplicity, and an open approach to data. Our existing systems safeguard land and property ownership valued at £7 trillion, enabling secure lending across England and Wales. In our Transformation and Technology directorate, we are currently seeking two Senior Security Architects to join our Security Domain within the Architecture Practice. Your role will involve designing and governing secure systems and services, developing security patterns and documentation, and ensuring alignment with cross-government initiatives. You will also stay updated with emerging technologies and contribute to our future technical roadmap. We offer a starting salary of £57,400 - £71,300, with a significant employer pension contribution, generous annual leave, and a clear progression pathway. Flexible working arrangements and a supportive culture dedicated to inclusivity and continuous learning are also part of what we provide. Expectation is to work from our Plymouth office 60% of your time, typically three days a week, with flexible hours available.
