Requirements
Must:
- CISSP (or equivalent)
- Strong working knowledge of cyber and information security standards such as ISO 27001
- Experience leading cyber assurance or risk programmes at a strategic level
- Proven ability to engage, influence and brief at senior leadership level
- Experience of audit and assurance activity (e.g. GovAssure or equivalent)
- Sound judgement and strong written skills
- Confidence operating in ambiguity
- Experience in government is useful but not essential
- Candidates from consulting, regulated industry, utilities, finance, or other large-scale environments are welcome
Responsibilities
- Lead cyber security assurance activity across a large, complex organisation
- Assess the effectiveness of cyber controls and advise on improvements
- Provide senior stakeholders with clear, evidence-based assurance on cyber risk
- Shape and maintain cyber risk management approaches and assurance frameworks
- Work across first and second line functions to ensure risks are identified, understood and managed
- Contribute to policy development and security standards
- Engage confidently with senior leaders, auditors, and the wider security community
