Requirements
Must:
- I have over 5 years of experience in software development with strongly typed languages, such as Go and Java, including at least 2 years of commercial experience with Golang.
- I possess strong skills in writing well-tested code.
- I have a proven ability to take a User Story from refinement through to delivery within a sprint.
- I have solid experience in data modeling and database design, whether using SQL or NoSQL.
- I understand distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
- I have experience delivering cloud-based REST API solutions.
- I demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- I will write clean, testable, and maintainable Go code.
- I will break down refined User Stories into clear, deliverable tasks.
- I will champion best practices, including automated testing, code reviews, and refactoring.
- I will ensure compliance with coding standards, security guidelines, and regulations.
- I will work closely with product owners, designers, and other engineers to transform business requirements into robust technical solutions.
- I will help define the technical roadmaps and long-term strategies.
- I will stay ahead of industry trends and introduce innovative ideas.
Description
At our company, we are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with strong Golang skills to join one of our cross-functional feature squads, where I will design and deliver new capabilities that the business relies on. Our backend is built in Go, designed with a documentation-first mindset, and follows a service-oriented architecture. We emphasize high code quality, extensive automated testing (with generated mocks), and smooth deployments via our CI/CD pipeline into AWS. If you thrive on solving complex challenges, simplify complicated problems, and communicate effectively with empathy, then this is the opportunity for you. Bonus points if you have SaaS product experience, expertise in microservices and messaging/event-driven integration, knowledge of AWS architecture, experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools, or a degree in Computer Science or a related field.
