Requirements
Must:
- A good understanding of core IT areas, such as basic networking, domains and DNS, Windows 11, Microsoft 365 services (Email, OneDrive, Office software), security concepts, and backup concepts.
- Fluent English communication skills.
- Patience and understanding when supporting customers.
- Honesty and trustworthiness; some clients may require security clearance checks.
- Systematic work approach with good attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Desirable experience or qualifications in Microsoft 365 Fundamentals or Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 business licensing, Bitdefender Gravityzone Antivirus, AutoTask PSA, Datto RMM, Datto SaaS Backup, Microsoft Azure platform, Synology NAS systems, Draytek and PFsense routers, TPLink Omada switches and wifi, cPanel Web Hosting.
Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding technical support to existing clients.
- Provide remote support for Microsoft 365, Windows Desktop, and Server systems, and occasionally Mac OS X.
- Conduct regular remote maintenance checks for contract clients.
- Configure systems for new projects, including computers, routers, switches, and cloud services.
- Answer phone and email inquiries.
- Improve internal systems for efficiency or cost savings.
- Travel to customer sites in a company vehicle or personal vehicle (mileage paid).
- Perform any other duties required to support day-to-day business operations.
Description
We are a company based in newly renovated offices in Downpatrick, and were looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join our team. This is a permanent position with a 6-month probationary period. Our working hours are 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work. We offer competitive salaries between £22,000 and £30,000 per year, potential annual bonuses from our profit-share scheme, and a benefits package that includes free on-site parking, paid holidays, training investment, and a workplace pension.
