Requirements
Must:
- At least 8 years of experience in Scala programming language
- Strong knowledge of Spark & Scala
- Experience in designing and developing large scale, distributed data processing pipelines using Apache Spark
- Expertise in Spark Core, Spark SQL, and Spark Streaming
- Familiarity with Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, and other BigData technologies
- Understanding of Data warehousing and ETL concepts
- Expertise in Database concepts and SQL/NoSQL operations
- UNIX shell scripting experience
- Experience in Project development life cycle activities and maintenance/support projects
- Ability to work in an Agile environment
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in a Global delivery environment
- Ability to stay up to date with new technologies and industry trends
Responsibilities
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient Scala code following best practices
- Design and develop large-scale, distributed data processing pipelines
- Collaborate with upstream and downstream functional teams
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data issues
- Participate in Agile ceremonies like daily standups and sprint planning reviews
- Understand project requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Maintain project quality standards in all deliverables
- Work effectively in a diverse stakeholder environment
Description
We are seeking a skilled SparkScala Developer for our London office, where we offer a hybrid work model of 3 days a week from the office. This initial 12-month contract role focuses on long-term projects and offers a competitive rate of up to GBP 450/day. Our team thrives in a collaborative environment, and we value continuous learning and innovation in line with industry trends. Please note that we do not provide visa sponsorship; candidates must have British Citizenship, ILR, or a UK Settlement Visa.
