Requirements
Must:
We require a strong database administrator with experience in handling large database estates and managing terabyte-sized databases. You should have expertise in database upgrades across multiple versions and releases, high availability setup and administration (including RAC), and disaster recovery design and planning, especially with Dataguard. Additionally, you need familiarity with Exadata, as well as strong scripting skills to automate processes. ITIL Foundation certification and experience with tools like Remedy or ServiceNow are essential. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, a good attitude, flexibility, and the ability to manage and motivate teams.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will handle the installation and administration of multiple versions of databases on various UNIX platforms and Windows servers. You will design and implement high availability solutions, install and manage ASM instances in Oracle, and plan major migrations and upgrades. Your responsibilities will include defining and configuring disk groups in ASM, managing databases on Exadata machines, and ensuring the successful implementation of backup and recovery solutions as needed. You will also coordinate with database vendors to resolve major incidents, perform database refreshes, and conduct periodic performance reviews to make tuning recommendations. Furthermore, you will provide technical presentations on emerging technologies and ensure continuous improvement through automation, monitoring security, and proactively identifying risks.
Description
The primary focus of this role is to support both production and non-production database environments, minimizing repeated errors through proper checkpoints. You will maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all activities and take part in the evaluation of tools and software selection. This position requires you to offer technical and process guidance to L2 and L1 DBAs and provide 24x7 on-call support for critical application databases. Your contributions will be crucial to our ongoing commitment to improvement in our database management processes and customer needs.
