Requirements
Must:
- An understanding of VMware vSphere & related technologies
- Familiarity with Cisco UCS & HPE infrastructure
- Some experience using vRealize Operations Manager to monitor and administer a virtualised environment
- Appreciation of VMware Management products such as vRealize Automation and vRealize Log Insight
- Understanding of VMware Site Recovery Manager
- Experience in implementing VMware solutions
- Familiarity with virtualisation architectures and supporting them
- Knowledge of vSAN and Dell VxRail technologies
- A strong understanding and practical application of IBM Storage Technologies, including Block Storage & File Storage systems
- Understanding of Spectrum Scale
- Experience working with Cisco UCS & HP Blade infrastructure
- Appreciation of backup software (such as Commvault)
- Familiarity with storage technologies (IBM, Block Storage, File Storage, etc.)
- Understanding of monitoring technologies (SolarWinds, AppDynamics, Datadog, etc.)
- Knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS/Azure) and their associated features
- Understanding of Linux command line technologies
- Some experience in AWS server administration and features
- Experience in an Agile delivery environment
Responsibilities
As an Infrastructure Analyst in our Platform team, I will contribute a high level of technical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve production incidents or problems, escalating to Senior Engineers when necessary. I will ensure tasks are completed to agreed levels of quality and within stated timelines with minimal supervision. Additionally, I will proactively seek improvement opportunities within the team and its processes, supporting and guiding my peers as needed. My responsibilities will include independent troubleshooting and resolution of production service incidents, technical tasks such as patching, allocating storage, maintaining scripts, and configuring backups. I will prioritize tasks effectively to ensure high-priority activities are addressed first.

This role will provide me with the opportunity to work within an established team, giving access to cutting-edge technology while making a meaningful impact in our customer industry through various projects. I will collaborate with stakeholders across different teams to ensure that a wide range of internal customer needs are met. Effective communication skills at all levels will be essential in this role, and I will strive to proactively identify areas for improvement in procedures and methods of working, using my technical knowledge to validate that processes are optimized for efficiency.
