We are looking for a GCP Cloud Developer who possesses proficiency in Python or Node.js for cloud function development and hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services. A strong understanding of cloud-native application design is essential, alongside familiarity with Apigee and API gateway configuration. You should have working knowledge of Excel macros/VBA scripting and a good grasp of version control practices and tools like Azure DevOps Repos. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and collaboration abilities, are necessary. GCP certifications such as Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Developer are a plus. Additionally, experience with CI/CD automation on cloud platforms and a background in working with large datasets and ETL pipelines are highly desirable.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will expect you to design, develop, and deploy applications using Google Cloud Functions (Python or Node.js). You will implement and optimize data pipelines using Google Cloud Dataflow and manage and query relational databases using Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL). Handling file operations and trigger-based workflows using Google Cloud Storage will be part of your duties, as will configuring and managing access controls using Google Cloud IAM. You will also integrate and manage APIs through Apigee API Management, work with Excel VBA macros and offline tools for automation tasks, and maintain source code repositories and CI/CD pipelines using Git and Azure DevOps Repos. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and deliver high-quality solutions will be essential.
Description
This position is located in Warwick, UK, and is a contracting role requiring a hybrid mode of working—specifically, you will need to be in the office for 3 days a week. The duration of this assignment is expected to be 6 months, without any specific working conditions such as travel, on-call duties, or shifts. We are eager to find a skilled and motivated individual to join our team in delivering scalable cloud-based solutions using the Google Cloud Platform.
