Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience in PostgreSQL database administration
- Minimum experience of 14 years in database management
- Recommended 5 years of experience in DB2 to Postgres migration
- Strong knowledge of performance tuning, query optimization, and replication
- Experience with backup and recovery strategies
- Familiarity with cloud-based PostgreSQL deployments (AWS)
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of CDC tools like Precisely, zDIH is a plus
- Capability to implement CDC in both directions (Postgres to DB2 and vice versa)
- BluAge certification/knowledge is desirable but not mandatory
Responsibilities
- Administer PostgreSQL databases to ensure optimal performance
- Manage and execute migrations from DB2 to Postgres
- Perform query optimization and performance tuning on the database
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance database strategies
- Explore and implement cloud-based PostgreSQL solutions on AWS
- Implement Change Data Capture (CDC) across databases as required
Description
We are looking for a Database Architect to join our team on a contract basis for a duration of 6 months. The role will be hybrid, based in Bishopsgate, London, with the possibility of a face-to-face interview at our Canary Wharf office.
