Requirements
Must:
- Must have a valid current SC Clearance.
- Must have own vehicle and be able to travel to 5 locations at short notice.
- Minimum 12 months experience working within a data centre environment.
- Background in installing and de-installing IT equipment in data centres.
- Knowledge and experience with the ITIL framework.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems supporting data centres, such as generators, UPS, and cooling systems.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe and reliable operation of the data centre estate to protect housed services.
- Conduct regular IT asset audits to uphold data accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain accuracy in the Nlyte or equivalent DCIM tool to monitor capacity limits.
- Manage changes and risks through the Change Control Process.
- Raise change or incident tickets as necessary.
- Provide incident management support within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Represent the data centre estate in CABs, workshops, and multidisciplinary events.
- Validate technical designs to ensure safe housing and supportability.
- Deliver data centre inductions and maintain access records to meet safety requirements.
- Prepare for and complete all required audits.
Description
We are looking for a Data Centre Analyst to deliver comprehensive technical support for our data centre estate. You will liaise with suppliers, including National Grid Property, Mitie, Vodafone, M-Group, and Verizon, ensuring compliance with established operational processes. In this role, you will manage data centre capacity, including airflow and power analysis, as well as identify and implement efficiency improvements. You will oversee audit compliance (including IT Asset Audits), manage physical security and access control, and support incident management activities. This role also entails process review, improvement, and providing technical expertise to all parties operating within the data centre estate. Please note that out-of-hours work and participation in an on-call incident management rota may be required. Your ability to lead, build relationships, and draw upon your technical acumen will be crucial for success in this position.
