Requirements
Must:
- Significant domain experience in building and delivering software and data capabilities
- Experience architecting cloud data platforms in Defence, Government, Healthcare, Nuclear, or other highly regulated sectors
- Hands-on expertise in implementing analytic, data science, and software in various cloud and on-premises ecosystems
- Strong understanding of UK Government secure data design principles, including Secure by Design
- Awareness of relevant security and regulatory frameworks (NCSC, ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR)
- Ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences
- Ability to influence diverse stakeholders, including senior leadership
- Collaborative and inclusive mindset
- Experience in developing people and sharing knowledge, including creating training and frameworks for team development
Responsibilities
- Architect cloud-based data platforms and pipelines for Data Engineering, Data Science, and Data Exploitation teams
- Lead the design and development of cloud-based data systems using appropriate cloud services and infrastructure
- Lead client engagement activities to elicit technical requirements for solution design and architecture
- Oversee internal and client project data architecture and data governance
- Translate customer business needs into clear technical designs
- Ensure solutions meet required Government security and regulatory requirements
- Lead customer workshops and stakeholder engagement activities
- Conduct Code Reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements
- Provide architectural oversight throughout project delivery lifecycles
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level team members
- Contribute to thought leadership and development within our technical delivery community
- Collaborate with Business Development to provide technical input into bids and develop innovative data solutions
