Requirements
Must:
- I am looking for a highly motivated individual with deep technical expertise and strong leadership, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Candidates should ideally possess experience as a CTO/Director or be looking to transition from a Software Development Manager, Head of Software, or similar roles.
- Due to the nature of the position, it is essential that the Director of Software Engineering is a UK National for government security vetting, which includes a minimum of 5 years of consecutive UK residency.
- I desire someone who can primarily work in our office, with some flexibility for home working when required.
Responsibilities
- I will lead and mentor a team of software engineering leads, developers, and technical staff.
- My role will include defining team structure, hiring top talent, and driving professional growth and development.
- I aim to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance within the team.
- I will define and execute a forward-looking software architecture and technology strategy.
- Guiding the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performing systems will be my responsibility.
- I will oversee technical quality through code reviews, testing standards, and documentation.
- Owning the end-to-end software development lifecycle and ensuring timely and high-quality delivery will be crucial.
- I will set engineering OKRs (Objectives and Key Results), monitor progress, and continuously improve delivery processes.
- Partnering closely with Product, Design, QA, Operations, and Business stakeholders will be key to translating business requirements into technical solutions and resource plans.
- I will serve as the technical voice in executive discussions and strategic planning.
- Ensuring that all systems and software meet internal standards and external compliance requirements will be part of my responsibilities.
- I will oversee incident response, vulnerability management, and disaster recovery plans.
