Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience (typically 7+ years) in Cyber Security Engineering, including OT and IT environments.
- Strong understanding of industrial Control Systems (ICS), SCADA networks, and associated protocols.
- Demonstrable expertise in threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and security architecture.
- Familiarity with frameworks and standards such as NIST CSF, IEC 62443, ISO 27001, MITRE ATT&CK, and CIS Controls.
- Practical experience implementing and managing security technologies such as SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability scanners.
- Proven track record of delivering complex cyber security solutions and services.
- Must be eligible for approval under SC clearance vetting.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Industrial Control Systems or a similar relevant discipline.
- Experience in the energy, utilities, or critical national infrastructure sectors.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., NIS Directive, UK Cyber Assessment Framework).
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to understand customer requirements to deliver effective solutions that meet their needs.
Responsibilities
- Define and continuously evolve our OT cyber security offering and go-to-market strategy.
- Establish technology partner relationships and frameworks that enhance delivery capability and innovation.
- Align OT security strategy with overall business objectives, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
- Lead the definition of system acceptance, agreeing with clients on critical success factors, testing approaches, and necessary steps for successful delivery.
- Manage work allocation and resourcing within the team to ensure delivery commitments are met.
- Conduct performance reviews and support the development of L&D objectives for team personnel.
- Lead the design, implementation, and operation of the Cyber Threat Intelligence and Vulnerability Management functions.
- Analyze and anticipate the evolving threat landscape across OT and IT environments.
- Research and evaluate Indicators of Compromise (IoCs), Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs), and other threat data.
- Recommend and implement appropriate Threat Intelligence Platforms (TIPs) and toolkits.
- Develop and maintain technical control matrices, industrial control frameworks, and architectural controls.
- Support and guide asset owners and project teams in implementing and maintaining effective technical controls.
- Ensure all control implementations align with organizational risk treatment plans and compliance obligations.
- Provide expert input into audits, design reviews, and change advisory processes.
- Manage timelines within multiple workstreams ensuring project/customer commitments are delivered on time.
- Own departmental KPIs and reporting to ensure team objectives are met.
- Lead threat intelligence and vulnerability management review meetings with key stakeholders.
- Represent Cyber Security at technical and executive governance forums.
- Translate complex technical risk into clear, actionable communications for business and technical audiences.
- Coach, mentor, and develop security capability across teams.
- Continuously develop and enhance the Group Cyber Threat Intelligence Framework and documentation.
- Provide strong technical oversight to ensure quality and best practice in security engineering.
- Track and report on metrics, control effectiveness, and overall cyber maturity progress.
- Lead recruitment efforts including headcount justification, job advertisements, CV sifting, and interviews.
