Requirements
Must:
- Strong front-end development skills using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+).
- Experience with front-end JavaScript, vanilla/jQuery or frameworks such as React/Vue.js/Angular.
- Proficiency in PHP for building robust, secure, and maintainable applications.
- Understanding of database design and management (MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Experience with RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.
- Degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain user-friendly web applications and websites aligned with the charitys goals.
- Develop and maintain APIs and integrations with third-party systems (e.g., CRMs, donation platforms).
- Ensure accessibility, security and performance standards are met across all digital products.
- Work collaboratively with non-technical colleagues to translate needs into practical digital solutions.
- Implement and manage hosting, deployment and version control processes (e.g., GitHub, Plesk, Linux).
- Troubleshoot, test and maintain existing systems to improve performance and reliability.
Description
We are a charity organization based in Exeter, Devon, currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis. This hybrid-working position allows you to work from home for 1 or 2 days a week. We offer a competitive salary of up to £55,000 per year, along with excellent company benefits including private healthcare and pension. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our digital platforms to support our beneficiaries and staff.
