- 7+ years of backend engineering experience
- Strong experience with modern Java (21+) and RESTful frameworks
- Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases
- Cloud deployment experience (Azure preferred)
- Experience with CI/CD, containerization, and testing frameworks
- Clear communicator, able to explain complex ideas and collaborate across teams
- Passion for technology that drives sustainability and positive environmental impact
Desirable:
- Experience with PostGIS, time-series, or geospatial data
- Familiarity with distributed microservices architectures
- Exposure to methane detection, energy, or environmental data
- Lean development mindset and experience mentoring others

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale cloud-based platforms for methane detection and emissions intelligence systems
- Work with high-volume data from mobile survey equipment and telemetry from low-cost sensors
- Develop performant, resilient backend services that turn complex data into actionable insights for utilities
- Occasionally contribute to 3rd-line support to gain insight into system performance in production
- Engage with customers and partners to translate technical possibilities into practical solutions
