Requirements
Must:
- Strong background in applied mathematics, operations research, or optimisation
- Proven experience with graph-based models, algorithm design, and probabilistic methods
- Comfortable working alongside Data Science and Engineering teams
- Ability to translate abstract, human-led processes into formal mathematical representations
- Experience supporting AI / ML-driven systems (theoretical or applied)
Responsibilities
- Designing end-to-end mathematical models that translate real-world workflows into executable system logic
- Applying algebraic modelling, graph theory, optimisation, and statistics to complex, unstructured data problems
- Prototyping and validating algorithms in Python and MATLAB
- Shaping the mathematical backbone of vector search, intent extraction, and LLM-driven workflows
- Producing clear, auditable documentation in LaTeX and Jupyter
- Acting as the mathematical authority across the platform and mentoring others where needed
Description
We are partnering with a highly technical, early-stage organisation building a next-generation, AI-driven decision platform. We offer a unique opportunity to sit at the heart of product design, translating human problem-solving processes into rigorous mathematical, algorithmic, and optimisation models.
