Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience as a software engineer
- Strong leadership abilities in managing engineering teams
- Familiarity with PHP and Laravel frameworks
- Experience with AWS services and cloud-native tooling
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices and implementation
- Ability to enhance engineering culture and processes
- Experience in transitioning monolithic platforms to microservices
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of approximately 15 engineers
- Structure and standardize delivery processes
- Drive the evolution of our platform from monolithic to microservices architecture
- Integrate CI/CD pipelines into our daily engineering practices
- Support the transition to AWS and cloud-native solutions
- Establish and maintain high standards and technical direction
- Foster an engineering culture focused on collaboration and improvement
Description
We are a Manchester-based business seeking to modernize our engineering function by hiring a Head of Engineering. This role provides a unique opportunity to influence our team of skilled engineers and enhance our delivery processes. Our initial working pattern will be office-based to build context and relationships, transitioning to a hybrid model of two days in the office and three remote. We offer a competitive salary in the range of £90,000 to £100,000.
