Requirements
Must:
- Experience in cloud security (Azure)
- Strong understanding of IAM, RBAC, and privileged access models
- Familiarity with cloud-native security tooling (e.g. Defender)
- Experience implementing hardening standards and secure baselines
- Knowledge of infrastructure and platform security assurance
- Understanding of network security and segmentation
- Pragmatic, delivery-focused approach to security
Responsibilities
- Review and secure Azure / cloud platform configurations
- Work with architects to define secure reference architectures and patterns
- Implement and review identity & access controls (RBAC, PIM, privileged access)
- Improve cloud security posture and enforce secure configuration baselines
- Define standards for logging, monitoring, and platform hardening
- Drive remediation of systemic security weaknesses
- Provide input into network security and segmentation design
- Support security assurance across core infrastructure
- Contribute to incident response, including investigation and triage
- Improve detection engineering and logging capabilities
- Support vulnerability management and provide remediation guidance
- Review technical changes for security impact
- Write and maintain documentation, standards, and runbooks
- Work closely with engineering to embed security into delivery
- Contribute to automation and repeatable security practices
Description
We are a defence-focused start-up located in the West Midlands, seeking a hands-on Cloud Security Engineer to help secure, scale, and continuously improve our Azure environment.
