Requirements
Must:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Professional experience as a Java developer, with proficiency in Java 8 and above.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles.
- Experience with Spring Framework, Hibernate, and RESTful web services.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and Docker containers.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with build tools such as Maven or Gradle, and version control systems like Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to hold or gain a UK government security clearance and must have valid right to work in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Java applications according to project requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Work with outside data sources and APIs.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Mentor junior developers, guiding them on best practices and emerging technologies.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.
- Develop and execute comprehensive automated tests using Cypress for front-end application testing.
- Work closely with UI/UX designers and back-end developers to ensure seamless integration.
