Requirements
Must:
- Senior IT / Technical leadership background
- Proven experience delivering large-scale Data Warehouse or Lakehouse platforms
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Azure
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Databricks
- Expertise in Data Engineering & Data Warehouse architecture
- Experience in the insurance industry (any line of business)
- Experience managing large, geographically distributed teams
- Confident, resilient stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable with hybrid working in London
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end implementation of a new enterprise data platform
- Own technical delivery across Azure Data Services and Databricks
- Oversee enterprise data modelling & warehouse development
- Act as the senior IT interface to the business
- Manage and influence senior stakeholders through significant change
- Lead and motivate approximately 10 permanent engineers in London and 25 offshore contractors
- Build a high-performing, delivery-driven data engineering function

This high-impact, delivery-focused role offers a competitive salary of £140,000 with a 15% bonus, alongside strong pension and benefits. With executive sponsorship and a large, distributed team, we aim to grow our data engineering function significantly.
