Requirements
Must:
We are looking for candidates with previous experience as an Automation Engineer within a manufacturing environment. Ideally, you will hold a Degree in Engineering. You should be proficient in identifying opportunities for automation, leading projects, writing and modifying code (primarily Block coding), programming robots, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with the following software is essential: PLC (mostly PCS 7), SCADA, LabVIEW, and Python.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will lead automation projects with real autonomy and impact. You will design, program, and optimize advanced systems for world-class manufacturing environments. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Identifying opportunities for automation.
- Leading and managing multiple projects.
- Programming robots and testing code.
- Troubleshooting and modifying code.
- Collaborating with external OEMs to learn about the robots they have built and their current coding.
Description
This position is based in Bedford and offers a hybrid work arrangement (2 days WFH), along with a salary range of £42,000 - £47,000, with opportunities to increase by 14% and a 7.5% bonus. You will receive 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays, private medical insurance, and an enhanced pension scheme. The role is highly autonomous, requiring you to manage your own diary based on project needs, with the potential to work on-site up to 5 days a week or enjoy flexibility with remote work.
