To succeed as a Senior Engineer, I will have proven experience in a 3rd line support role. I should be confident working with virtualization technologies (such as VMware), Windows Server environments, and cloud platforms like Azure. A solid understanding of networking fundamentals, backup software, endpoint protection, and Microsoft services is essential. Experience with Microsoft Defender, Mimecast, and email deliverability is highly desirable, along with experience in SharePoint and OneDrive configuration and administration. I thrive in a collaborative environment, communicate clearly, and enjoy solving complex technical challenges.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Engineer, I will provide expert 3rd line support, taking ownership of technical issues and service requests to deliver timely and effective resolutions. I will maintain our virtual infrastructure, overseeing patching, backups, and system upgrades while monitoring and managing endpoint and server protection using tools such as Microsoft Defender to ensure our systems are secure. A key aspect of my role will involve supporting email security and deliverability, leveraging platforms like Mimecast to ensure robust protection and reliable communication across the organization. I will work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to manage installations, upgrades, and changes to systems and services, offering expert advice and technical guidance throughout. Additionally, I will support corporate IT services, focusing on security and Microsoft technologies, including SharePoint and OneDrive, while sharing knowledge with other IT colleagues to enhance team capability and service delivery.
