Requirements
Must:
To succeed as our Information Security Officer, you will need experience and knowledge of Cyber and Information Security compliance and how to apply this to IT systems and applications. It is essential that you have the ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, and educate stakeholders on Cyber Security. You must be able to work collaboratively with members of the Customer and Digital Services team in the procurement, management, and integration of systems and applications to ensure security. Additionally, you should possess the ability to advise on IT Security compliance relevant to Horsham District Council and develop the appropriate policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
As our Information Security Officer, I will expect you to develop and support the Information Assets Registers, Security Policies, and security training. Your role will involve promoting and providing advice and guidance on the security of applications, systems, and networked devices. You will lead and manage all aspects of Information Security Policy development, monitoring, and compliance. Additionally, you will liaise with the Council's Data Protection Officer (DPO) and Information Governance Officer regarding the use and security of information and data assets. Your responsibilities will include ensuring delivery in alignment with the Council's objectives, Digital and Technology Strategy, and appropriate security and statutory standards and guidelines.
