Requirements
Must:
- Strong understanding of IP, SDH, PDH, MPLS/TP (MSN), ATM, and RF technologies
- Understanding of operating system and application software; Microsoft systems, SQL, and Unix are advantageous
- Experience in technical document writing
- Highly skilled at problem-solving
- A proactive approach to tasks
- Strong knowledge of Transmission system testing and faulting
- Capable of developing processes and managing equipment configuration for compliance
- Experience in managing network capacity and understanding configuration control
Responsibilities
- Provide 2nd/3rd line support for all Connect installed equipment
- Carry out systems analysis activities to support service delivery and support
- Write and update Service Centre Technical documents and Change Control documentation
- Control receipt, identification, storage, and withdrawal of all supported configured items
- Manage network capacity to support future business needs
- Support change management processes for existing networks
- Record all requests for change and validate possibilities for configured items and network development
- Work with the Service Desk to provide updates on changes
- Collaborate with third-party suppliers to prevent network interruptions
- Support and develop ACMS by providing accurate details of configured items
- Carry out Problem and Release management tasks
- Support O&M review and acceptance of designs for projects and bids
- Participate in Design Reviews focusing on impact upon O&M services
- Undertake equipment/system testing within agreed competency
- Deputise for the Network Support Manager as required
- Coordinate and supervise workgroups during planned work and faulting activities
