Requirements
Must:
- Strong knowledge of computer networking principles including LAN, TCP/IP protocols, DNS, VPNs, and firewall configurations.
- Experience with desktop support across multiple operating systems such as Windows (including Windows Server), macOS, and Linux.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting software issues using tools like SCCM, ServiceNow, Jira, and BMC Remedy.
- Familiarity with Active Directory management for user account provisioning and permissions control.
- Ability to diagnose hardware problems related to computer components and peripherals.
- Excellent communication skills for effective customer service and technical support delivery.
- Analytic skills to identify root causes of technical issues swiftly and accurately.
- Knowledge of IT security best practices to safeguard organisational data assets.
- Experience with operating systems management including software deployment and updates via SCCM or similar tools.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-line technical support to end-users via help desk tickets, email, or in person, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Troubleshoot hardware problems related to computers, peripherals, and network devices.
- Assist with software troubleshooting across various operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Manage user accounts and permissions within Active Directory and other identity management systems.
- Support network infrastructure including LAN, VPNs, DNS, TCP/IP protocols, firewalls, and switches.
- Maintain and update operating systems such as Microsoft Windows Server and Windows desktop environments.
- Use management tools like SCCM, ServiceNow, Jira, and BMC Remedy for ticketing, deployment, and asset management.
- Configure and support computer hardware components as well as software applications like Microsoft Office.
- Monitor network security measures including firewall configurations and VPN access to ensure data integrity.
- Assist with server maintenance tasks involving Microsoft Windows Server environments.
- Document issues and resolutions accurately for future reference and continuous improvement.
