Must:

- We require cloud expertise across major providers, including Azure, AWS, GCP, and Oracle.
- We require experience with infrastructure as code, governance, and cost optimisation.
- We strongly prefer candidates with active SC clearance.
- We prefer experience designing solutions for sensitive or secure environments.
- We prefer experience applying zero trust principles and embedding security into all phases of solution design.
- We prefer experience with identity and access management, including privileged access.
- We prefer experience with software-defined data centres and virtualisation technologies.
Responsibilities
- We provide architectural leadership across programmes and technical domains.
- We oversee solution delivery and ensure alignment with enterprise principles.
- We define and review solution designs, ensuring standards are met.
- We guide teams on best practice and maintain traceability from requirements to designs.
- We develop and maintain architecture governance, templates, and reference models.
- We support continuous improvement and the adoption of emerging trends.
- We work closely with engineering teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
- We lead the design of a critical IT platform for our public sector client.
- We work on a hybrid basis, with 3 days onsite in Glasgow.
Description
We are seeking a hands-on Solution Architect for an immediate 6-month contract inside IR35 to support a critical public sector platform in Scotland. This is a Glasgow hybrid role with 3 days onsite required. We need someone who can combine high-level architectural leadership with practical technical expertise, working closely with engineering teams to deliver robust solutions in a fast-moving environment. Candidates with active SC clearance are strongly preferred, and we offer the opportunity to contribute to a high-priority programme with broad exposure across architecture, governance, cloud, infrastructure, and secure design.
