Requirements
Must:
- Extensive experience working within government departments and a deep understanding of GDS.
- Ability to align designs with organisational goals and technical delivery capabilities.
- You must hold current, active SC Clearance to be considered for this position.
- A proven track record of using verified information to solve complex service problems.
Responsibilities
- Create end-to-end services that meet diverse user needs and ensure accessibility across all touchpoints.
- Analyse dependencies and service ecosystems to provide visual, easy-to-understand artefacts.
- Facilitate workshops and co-creation sessions, designing in the open to share knowledge across the wider design community.
- Advocate for inclusive design practices and support the development of long-term service strategies and roadmaps.
- Guide junior designers and contribute to the growth of the internal design profession.
Description
We are seeking an experienced Service Designer to lead the end-to-end design of user-centred services within a complex public sector ecosystem. This role is pivotal in ensuring digital touchpoints align with policy intent while maintaining strict adherence to Government Digital Service (GDS) standards. The position offers a rate of up to £560 per day (Inside IR35 - PAYE via Umbrella) and allows for remote work with occasional travel for research.
