Requirements
Must:
- Strong enterprise VMware engineering background (5 years)
- Hands-on VMware Cloud Foundation experience
- Proven NSX-T implementation and configuration experience
- vSphere / ESXi cluster design and support
- Automation skills (PowerCLI, PowerShell, Ansible or similar)
- Experience in large, complex environments
Responsibilities
- Deploy and support VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments
- Configure and manage NSX-T (Edge nodes, T0/VRF, DFW, routing)
- Administer and optimise vSphere / ESXi clusters
- Support vSAN and storage integration
- Manage VM lifecycle (Linux & Windows)
- Perform performance tuning and capacity planning
- Conduct advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and networking teams
Description
We are seeking a Senior VMware Engineer to support a large enterprise virtual infrastructure environment in the North West. This role is focused on modern VMware platform engineering rather than 3rd line support. The successful contractor will work across VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), NSX-T, and enterprise vSphere environments, supporting infrastructure modernisation and optimisation initiatives. This position typically requires 2 days onsite in the North West, with some flexibility based on location.
