Requirements
Must:
- Active SC clearance with eligibility for DV Clearance
- Strong experience in a senior Linux engineering role within complex infrastructure environments, ideally in government/public sector
- Proven ability to act as a senior technical Linux resource, owning decisions and outcomes
- Experience with virtualized networking and platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V
- Advanced scripting skills with Bash and Python
- Good understanding of core services and protocols (HTTPS, SSH, DNS, NTP, SSL) and troubleshooting Linux issues to 4th line level
- Hands-on experience with Ansible automation and infrastructure monitoring
- Working knowledge of Confluence, Jira, and JSM
- Understanding of database technologies (PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, SQL) and experience managing Linux certificates, squid, and Linux tooling upgrades
- Broad understanding of on-prem and cloud-based infrastructure
- Willingness to work on occasion out-of-hours and travel to sites as required
- Relevant IT/engineering qualification or equivalent experience (desirable)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and CEPH or other Linux storage environments (desirable)
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical expertise across enterprise Linux infrastructure to maintain performance, security, and availability
- Support ongoing project delivery and BAU operations
- Drive automation and platform improvements in line with internal and regulatory standards
- Act as a senior technical point within the engineering function
- Work closely with other teams and vendors to keep environments up to date and well governed
