Requirements

Must:
- Eligibility for security clearance - Experience as a security architect is ideal; candidates with senior-level experience in advisory roles looking to transition into their first architecture role will also be considered - Broad understanding of a wide range of security concepts or the ability to adapt and learn them (e.g., IAM, SOC, GRC, MFA) - Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills - Experience implementing security solutions in an architectural capacity - Experience scoping multiple large programmes of work - Experience completing High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs)

Responsibilities

- Join a team of around 20 to develop designs and provide overarching strategic architectural insights to the Technical Design Authority (TDA) - Create, review, and advise on HLDs and LLDs - Provide scoping and support to advance cyber programmes - Work cross-functionally with technical colleagues, partners, and project/programme staff - Increase cyber maturity while collaborating with third-party suppliers - Maintain and communicate the organisation's security architecture - Provide security architecture expertise on a variety of projects - Assist with cyber accreditation renewals - Suggest new security technologies - Manage and influence stakeholders - Collaborate with architects in similar public sector institutions to share good practices and implement new ideas - Create standards and document patterns

Description


We are looking for a Security Architect to join our public sector organisation in Scotland for a 12-month fixed term contract with the potential to go permanent. This strategic role will involve overseeing multiple high-profile workstreams and requires a generalist with a broad understanding of cyber and information security domains. The working policy is primarily remote, with occasional in-office requirements, and candidates must be based in Scotland. In addition to a salary of up to £89,000 per annum, we offer great public sector benefits, including a 27% pension, 28 days of leave plus 6 bank holidays, and annual salary increases.
