Requirements
Must:
- Proven commercial experience working as a DevOps Engineer within the Public Sector.
- Active SC Clearance.
- Strong experience with Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu), AWS, and high-availability Kubernetes environments (EKS/RKE) including load balancing and multi-site failover.
- Proficient in containerisation and orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- Skilled in IaC and automation with Terraform, Ansible, and supporting cloud-native platform modernisation.
- Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI), Git version control, and automated delivery practices.
- Experienced with monitoring and observability tooling such as Prometheus and Grafana.
- Knowledge of data and streaming technologies including Kafka, MongoDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL, plus PKI, secrets management, and IAM.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Nice to have: Puppet, KeyCloak, Vault, and experience supporting microservice architectures.
- Immediate availability.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with development teams to design and implement solutions in line with best practices.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes.
- Maintain high availability systems and troubleshoot issues in production.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices for efficient deployment and management of cloud resources.
- Optimize cloud infrastructure to improve performance and reduce costs.
- Monitor system performance and implement changes as necessary for improved operational continuity.
- Stay updated with latest technologies and trends in cloud computing and DevOps practices.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
