Requirements
Must:
We expect you to have a university degree or equivalent qualification. You should hold an SAP BusinessObjects XI certification or possess extensive report writing experience with tools such as BusinessObjects and Power BI. An understanding of user experience in BusinessObjects reporting is essential. You must have proven experience throughout the systems development lifecycle, including requirements capture, analysis, design, development, testing, and user documentation. We value your ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of business users to capture reporting requirements effectively and leverage the benefits of business intelligence solutions. You should be capable of translating user stories and requirements into technical and/or reporting specifications for development. A strong analytical and systematic approach to problem-solving is necessary, alongside the ability to remain calm and systematic in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines. Experience with BOXI migrations and re-platforming is desirable.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will contribute to establishing local or team-based standards for business intelligence programming tools and techniques, ensuring adherence to security guidelines and the appropriate selection of development methods. You will provide technical guidance throughout all stages of software development projects, assist with assessments and analyses of release components, and offer input on scheduling. You'll be responsible for coordinating the builds and tests in collaboration with testers and component specialists. Maintaining release processes and procedures will be part of your duties, along with providing expertise and support on methods and tools. Documenting comprehensive reporting requirements and technical business requirements will be vital, as will maintaining documentation on data and reporting solutions. You will also provide organizational leadership to promote the development and utilization of business intelligence solutions within the organization, recognizing strategic applications and initiating investigations into innovative methods and technologies beneficial to us.
Description
We are seeking to recruit two Lead BusinessObjects XI Developer/Analysts for a fixed-term contract with a University based in Birmingham. You will play a key role in leveraging your extensive experience in BI tools, particularly SAP BusinessObjects XI, to create data-rich dashboards, design universes, and implement row-level security. Your knowledge of scripting languages and programming languages like SQL, R, and Python will also be beneficial in developing custom BI products. You will need to be familiar with business intelligence, data analytics, integration, data warehousing, and presentation concepts while effectively working with various stakeholders and functional teams to understand and address business needs. The role offers competitive remuneration, including £47,389 - £56,535 per annum, 32 days of annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, hybrid working arrangements, a competitive pension, and numerous other benefits.
