Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator (PostgreSQL DBA)
- Must hold Active Security Clearance (SC)
- Core development / maintenance and performance optimisation (sharding, partitions)
- Experience with clustering and extensions such as Pgvector, PostGIS, and AGE
- Data migration experience from existing database(s) to Postgres database(s)
- Ability to recreate existing data models and develop new data models in accordance with user requirements
- Immediate availability (nice to have)
- Awareness / familiarity with Defence Information Exchange Standards (nice to have)
- Working knowledge of UI integration including geotooling (nice to have)
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain PostgreSQL databases for a high-profile consultancy
- Optimize performance through development and maintenance strategies including sharding and partitions
- Implement clustering and extensions like Pgvector, PostGIS, and AGE
- Facilitate data migration from existing databases to Postgres
- Recreate and develop data models based on user requirements
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure database functionality aligns with project goals
Description
We are a high-profile consultancy located in London, offering a hybrid working model with 1-2 days per week onsite. We are currently seeking an experienced PostgreSQL DBA with active security clearance to join our team for a six-month contract opportunity, offering up to £500 per day (outside IR35). Our projects involve working with a high-profile end customer, and we value collaboration, innovation, and expertise in our work.
