Requirements

Must:
- Cisco and/or Juniper Certifications - Sound understanding and experience of DNS & DHCP - A thorough understanding of IP protocols and features - Hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper networking technologies and platforms - Understanding of Telecommunications Transmission Systems - Excellent written and verbal communication skills required for presenting complex technical concepts - Good experience of Change Control Processes

Responsibilities

- Maintain hardware and software to comply with vendor support contracts and design policies - Maintain network capacity to support traffic forecasts - Integrate new services onto the network - Produce design documentation, test cases, and implementation plans to ensure excellent customer experience while focusing on cost-effectiveness and delivery timescales - Provide support to test and implementation staff - Support service migrations - Monitor the performance of the network against KPIs and produce technical plans to maintain performance - Maintain existing network standardization policies and propose new ones as necessary - Support the evaluation of vendor software release notes, bug reports, and security advisories - Produce network designs to meet agreed service targets and resilience levels - Produce designs to enable service migrations - Support requirements capture, testing, and implementation activities, including the production and agreement of documentation - Liaise with equipment suppliers to confirm design assumptions and resolve operational performance issues - Ensure designs meet requirements relating to architecture, legal/regulatory, data protection, and security - Ensure all documentation is peer-reviewed - Interact with Operations teams to ensure designs are fully accepted into an operational environment - Provide accurate data network design consultancy to approved projects - Support and initiate process improvement activities

Our flexible locations include Leeds, London, and Reading, with the expectation of 1-2 days per week in the office. This role allows you to work on various IP networking projects, focusing on maintaining network standards and supporting service migrations while collaborating with a dynamic team.
