Must:
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications: - A B.Sc. or B.Eng. degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience. - Hands-on experience with one or more Wi-Fi and network vendors' equipment, such as Extreme Networks, Cisco, Juniper, Cisco Meraki, or Aruba. - Extensive experience in wireless network engineering, data communications fields, and Networking/Internetworking devices, protocols, and operating systems. - Demonstrated expertise in network design and the ability to lead Wi-Fi and network design discussions to fully understand customer requirements. - Proven experience in network implementation, including the configuration of Wi-Fi controllers, access points, switches, and routers, across various network technologies. - Proficiency in using industry survey tools and techniques, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to the Wi-Fi solution. - Strong communication skills, with the ability to present to internal and external stakeholders and develop documentation in Visio and MS Office.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Wireless Network Engineer, I will: - Assist with the design and configuration of the Stadium Wi-Fi solution, including access point models, placements, and resilience requirements per industry best practices. - Configure and install Cisco products from their Stadium portfolio. - Verify compliance with best practices for all Extreme Wi-Fi device configurations in coordination with the Network Engineer. - Oversee the execution of a complete Wi-Fi signal coverage plan in alignment with defined acceptance criteria. - Integrate Wi-Fi and network components into a wider Enterprise-grade network, including Layer 2 through Layer 4-7 components. - Contribute to High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents, providing textual and diagrammatic representation of the designs. - Support the development of Customer requirements, HLD, LLD, and implementation documents with the Technical Design Authority. - Document access requests and record-of-change (ROC) to facilitate the implementation of the Wi-Fi or LAN solution at the Customer's site. - Install, configure, implement, and test Wi-Fi networks according to the LLD and change control documentation. - Perform on-site Wi-Fi surveys using tools like Ekahau and Hamina, or manage others in this task. - Validate AP design and produce high-quality AP placement drawings based on best practices. - Collaborate with electrical engineering and construction teams to create tailored mounting solutions. - Contribute to the overall project plan and perform testing and tuning validation as per the project implementation plan.

This role is paid at £500 per day for a 9-month contract based in Reading, with a hybrid work arrangement. I am seeking a Senior Wireless Network Engineer to play a crucial role in our Stadium Wi-Fi practice, where you will collaborate with major sports brands, venue owners, and installation and construction teams. A deep understanding of the latest 802.11 Wi-Fi standards and experience in complex, large-scale High-Density (HD) Wi-Fi deployments, particularly in stadium or arena environments, is essential. You will work closely with the Technical Design Authority and the project team to ensure seamless integration and implementation of the High-Density Stadium Wi-Fi solution. Your exceptional technical capabilities and communication skills will be vital in driving successful outcomes and meeting project requirements.
