Requirements
Must:
- Previous experience as an IT Service Desk Analyst.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Knowledge of the IT infrastructure, including hardware, databases, operating systems, and local area networks used within the organization.
- Experience in the installation, testing, and commissioning of supplier-specific equipment and software in operational environments.
- Ability to install and maintain hardware systems safely and within their planned specifications.
- Proficiency in everyday desktop software, such as word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics.
- Previous experience in a Higher Education setting is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Follow agreed procedures to receive and handle requests for information and provide routine advice to users regarding available systems, products, and services.
- Handle support requests, provide information to facilitate problem resolution, and promptly allocate unresolved calls as appropriate.
- Collect and record information as directed.
- Report and escalate unforeseen or exceptional events as they arise.
- Document all work to comply with standards, including the reporting of all hardware and software installations and removals for configuration management records.
- Assist users within the skills and experience required, and request assistance according to escalation procedures, keeping detailed records of each request, contact information, actions taken, and feedback to users.
Description
We are offering a 3-month contract with a pay rate of up to £24.10 per hour (within the scope of IR35), for 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday, fully on-site in Birmingham city centre. We are looking to recruit up to three IT Service Desk Analysts with immediate starts to support our high-performing team during a busy period. The role involves receiving and handling IT support requests by phone and email while following our agreed procedures. Candidates must be prepared to work on-site five days a week, as this is non-negotiable. If you have the relevant experience, we encourage you to submit your CV.
