Must:
We are looking for an IT engineer with strong experience in delivering support across a wide IT landscape. You should have a solid background in 1st and 2nd line support and be comfortable managing devices and consumables. Experience with M365 issues, hardware diagnostics, and asset management systems is essential. The role will require you to be on-site in Chorley a few days per week and potentially visit other locations in the North of England and the Midlands.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will efficiently retrieve and manage laptops for users, ensuring accurate tracking and records. You will provide 1st and 2nd line support for IT issues, resolving common problems and escalating complex cases as needed. You'll manage the ordering and supply of consumables and devices while coordinating with third-party suppliers. Additionally, you will maintain and update device inventory and asset management systems, reduce repeatable service-desk backlog, create and maintain how-to documents and training guides, and ensure a smooth business as usual (BAU) transition by updating SOPs, KB articles, and trackers.

You will be working for one of the largest infrastructure service providers across the UK, collaborating with major public and private sector companies, including the Ministry of Justice and local councils. The contract is for a 3-month period with potential extensions, and this position supports hybrid working arrangements.
