Requirements

Must:
We seek a full stack software engineer with at least 5 years of experience in software engineering. You should have robust experience in JAVA and a valuable proficiency in C#. Familiarity with frameworks like Spring or .NET is expected. You must have a solid background in developing services and RESTful APIs, showcasing your understanding of web services architecture and implementation. Additionally, you should be able to create dynamic and responsive web applications, demonstrating your skills in CSS, TypeScript, and JavaScript. A strong commitment to quality is essential, utilizing test-driven development (TDD) methodologies to ensure code reliability and maintainability. You should be knowledgeable in cybersecurity practices, including OAuth and OpenID Connect. Furthermore, proficiency in SQL and data modeling is required, along with the ability to apply SOLID principles for object-oriented programming, ensuring clean and maintainable code. It would be beneficial if you possess skills in Python and Angular, experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, and familiarity with Agile methodologies. Understanding cloud platforms, particularly Azure or AWS, as well as experience with CI/CD tools would also be advantageous. A basic understanding of machine learning concepts and knowledge of NoSQL databases is a plus. Ideally, you should hold a computer science degree or a related qualification with a significant component of computer numeracy, although relevant in-role experience may be accepted in the absence of formal qualifications. Industry experience in the Aviation or Defence sectors would further enhance your candidacy.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering exciting projects and products across our Civil Aviation, Defence, and Public Sector industry verticals. We encourage you to take the initiative to set your own direction of work while collaborating closely with our Head of Development to establish best practices within the Hawkrose development function. You will have the autonomy to manage your time and location effectively to best serve our customers. Your organizational skills will be put to the test as you work towards sometimes challenging deadlines agreed upon with our clients. Supporting the business with the development of work proposals and their associated cost and timelines will also be an important part of your responsibilities.
