Requirements
Must:
- CCNP certification or higher
- Extensive experience with Cisco switching and routing
- Experience with Palo Alto, F5, Collaboration, VPN, Windows, and Linux (advantageous)
- Proven experience with Cisco equipment (2960X/XR, 4500, 9000 series, Nexus switches)
- Strong troubleshooting skills in physical network site infrastructure
- Experience building, managing, and maintaining high availability networks
- Knowledge of Cisco Networking, Unified Communications, WLC, F5 VPN, F5 Silverline/XC, IPsec tunnel, and Palo Alto Firewalls
- Experience with network monitoring solutions
- Ability to work collaboratively with IT and operational teams
- Understanding of analogue telephone services deployment and testing
- Strong organizational skills with accurate record-keeping
- Willingness to apply for Basic Disclosure Scotland if not held
Responsibilities
- Manage migration of internet and Azure hosted traffic to the new SD-WAN solution
- Rollout new VPN solutions and upgrade estates-wide LAN hardware/software
- Upgrade Wi-Fi systems, including new controllers and APs
- Consult on the design and strategy for managing a large multi-site network
- Provide timely and accurate advice on networking/infrastructure design
- Represent the Networks team at meetings regarding the change programme
- Consult on the overall network roadmap based on business plans
- Ensure compliance with design within PSN networks and governance policies
- Identify improvements to service provision in collaboration with colleagues
- Attend meetings and network events to share best practices
- Provide collateral required by Project Managers within agreed timescales
- Collaborate with external agencies to improve service provision based on the network roadmap
