Requirements
Must:
- Relevant degree (or equivalent qualification) or significant professional experience.
- Experience with audio visual software and hardware.
- Programming experience with Audio Visual control systems and configuring Audio Visual hardware.
- Customer service experience in providing audio visual hardware and software support.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and work independently.
- Knowledge of a wide range of audio visual equipment and IT systems.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of IP-based networking and basic troubleshooting skills.
- Good understanding of health and safety legislation.
- Customer service-oriented with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize time effectively, even under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Provide AV and IT support for around 400 teaching rooms and over 1500 study space PCs.
- Maintain and repair AV and IT infrastructure for audio visual technical services across various spaces.
- Act as a service delivery specialist for the Audio Visual Repair service under the Maintenance Team Supervisor's direction.
- Proactively identify, prioritize, and manage problem resolution to minimize impacts on operations and enhance service quality.
- Utilize approved AI tools to improve productivity across all areas of work.
- Contribute to the Learning Spaces Technology Asset Management service, dealing with both physical and digital asset processing.
- Maintain the integrity of the asset database by categorizing new items and reviewing existing classifications for accuracy.
- Track all attributes of teaching, meeting, and study spaces and their associated data.
- Ensure business continuity by implementing backup and workaround solutions for all types of equipment and technical services.
- Develop, maintain, and disseminate clear and accurate documentation, including user guides, technical specifications, and process workflows.
Description
This is a 6-month contract position located onsite in Edinburgh, starting ASAP. The role falls inside IR35, and applicants must either hold or be willing to apply for a valid Basic Disclosure Scotland.
