Requirements
Must:
- 5+ years experience managing AWS cloud environments
- Strong hands-on AWS infrastructure knowledge with the ability to operate autonomously
- Experience with automation and CI/CD (Azure DevOps knowledge beneficial)
- Solid understanding of cloud security principles, ideally including exposure to CSA CCM and OWASP best practices
- Experience working within Windows environments (IIS via AWS AMIs)
- Database management and optimisation experience (Aurora RDS / MySQL preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience supporting or delivering cloud migration projects is highly desirable
- Insurance or InsurTech experience is advantageous but not essential
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy and maintain secure, scalable AWS infrastructure
- Manage core AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS (Aurora MySQL), VPC and Lambda
- Implement infrastructure automation and support CI/CD pipeline improvements
- Monitor system performance using CloudWatch and optimise resource utilisation and cost
- Lead on IAM management and cloud security best practices
- Support potential cloud-to-cloud or infrastructure migration initiatives
- Develop dashboards and metrics to monitor performance and enterprise client requirements
- Act as the primary cloud and DevOps specialist within the technology team
Description
We are a well-established and growing software business operating within the insurance sector, investing heavily in our cloud infrastructure and information security capabilities. We are looking to hire a Senior Cloud Engineer to take ownership of our AWS environment in a newly created, standalone DevOps/Cloud position. This role is based in central Bristol with an expectation of three days per week in the office.
