Requirements
Must:
- Strong commercial experience as a Data Engineer working on production-grade pipelines.
- Deep hands-on experience with GCP, including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Run, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, and streaming technologies such as Kafka.
- Strong capability in dbt or Dataform and familiarity with medallion architecture.
- Ability to design robust ingestion patterns across multiple data types.
- Experience with Terraform or similar IaC approaches.
- Clear communication skills and a value-focused engineering mindset.
- Experience operating within Agile teams.
- Nice to have: GCP certifications.
- Nice to have: Experience working in regulated environments.
Responsibilities
- Act as the in-house GCP expert, guiding design decisions and engineering standards.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of data products, from ingestion through to transformation and analytical layers.
- Build and maintain production-grade pipelines across batch and streaming workloads.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-quality datasets.
- Support the Azure-to-GCP migration, ensuring data sources are correctly transformed and integrated.
- Mentor engineers and help uplift best practice across the team.
- Operate within Agile ways of working, contributing to planning, ceremonies and continuous improvement.
