Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience leading engineering teams in complex, fast-paced environments.
- Strong software engineering background (Java / TypeScript / cloud-native systems).
- Excellent communicator, capable of explaining technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Agile frameworks and collaborative delivery practices.
- Deep understanding of system design, architecture, and modern backend best practices.
- A team-first mindset, prioritizing people, outcomes, and culture.
- Technical Toolkit:
- Java (21) and Spring Boot
- AWS and cloud-native architecture
- RDBMS / NoSQL databases
- Event-driven and microservices architectures
- Containers (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles
- TDD / BDD testing frameworks
Responsibilities
- Own the delivery of backend services, ensuring they are reliable, scalable, and secure.
- Collaborate closely with product, architecture, and business teams to shape technical direction.
- Drive effective planning, estimation, and execution of projects.
- Embed a culture of continuous improvement in how the team builds, tests, deploys, and maintains software.
- Champion modern engineering practices (CI/CD, TDD/BDD, clean code).
- Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing and inclusive engineering team.
- Foster a psychologically safe environment where learning and innovation can thrive.
- Inspire and align your team around purpose, delivery goals, and engineering excellence.
- Prioritize learning & development (L&D), feedback, and career progression.
- Utilize data and engineering metrics to guide team performance and decision-making.
