Requirements
Must:
- Completed the second year of a relevant IT-related degree programme by the start date in September 2026
- Seeking a year-long industry placement before completing studies
- No ongoing or completed Masters degree
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the delivery of software components under supervision
- Develop skills while working in a multidisciplinary team
- Understand and apply different types of testing
- Assist in coaching and mentoring junior colleagues
- Participate actively in the developer community
- Continuously improve software and system quality
- Follow industry best practices and HMLR standards in software development
- Identify and implement optimizations to the development process
- Learn and understand legacy technology and systems as required
Description
At HM Land Registry, as a Junior Software Developer, you will be part of our Software Development Practice, which consists of around 100 developers committed to continuous learning and collaboration. This role is based in Plymouth, South West England, and offers a generous salary of £34,800 - £38,000, along with a Civil Service Pension scheme that has an employer contribution of 28.97%.
